Launching March 14th
Join our virtual group meetings for youth ages 13–17 and be part of a space where you can connect with others, share experiences, and build communication and peer support skills. These sessions are designed to be friendly, supportive, and welcoming, giving you a place to be yourself and meet others who understand what you’re going through.
Led by trained life coaches, each meeting gives you the chance to talk about what matters to you, practice skills that help in everyday life, and build confidence in your relationships and communication. You’ll leave each session feeling heard, supported, and more connected to your peers.
Meetings take place on 2nd Saturday of month from March to August , 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Launching March 29th
Join our virtual Beyond Bars Listening Sessions focus groups and be part of a guided space where your voice, insight, and experience help shape stronger support for youth impacted by parental incarceration. These focus groups bring together caregivers, teachers, administrators, social workers, case managers, and adults who had an incarcerated parent during childhood to share perspectives and identify what is missing and what is most needed.
Each focus group is structured, welcoming, and discussion based. Participants will be invited to share honest feedback, real-world challenges, and practical recommendations based on their lived or professional experience working with this population. Sessions are facilitated to encourage open conversation while making sure every participant has the opportunity to contribute.
Hosted by Building Beyond Bars, these focus groups are used to directly guide program development and services so future efforts are community-informed and responsive.
Focus groups take place the last Sunday of the month from March through June from 12:00 to 1:30 PM via Zoom. Space is limited to keep discussions interactive and meaningful.
June 27th- August 29th
Join our monthly creative expression sessions this summer — an in person, supportive space for youth ages 13–17 to create, connect, and express themselves through guided creative activities and group conversation. These sessions are designed to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and strengthen community in a relaxed, judgment free environment.
Sessions are held every fourth Saturday from June through August from 10 AM–12:00 PM and take place in person, at the Halie Community Hub. Activities include art, writing, creative challenges, reflection, and small group connection. No special skills or prior experience are needed! Participants are welcome to join and engage at their comfort level.
