Community Building Sessions

Join our virtual group meetings for youth ages 13–17 and be part of a space where you can connect with others, share experiences, and build communication and peer support skills. These sessions are designed to be friendly, supportive, and welcoming, giving you a place to be yourself and meet others who understand what you’re going through.

Led by trained life coaches, each meeting gives you the chance to talk about what matters to you, practice skills that help in everyday life, and build confidence in your relationships and communication. You’ll leave each session feeling heard, supported, and more connected to your peers.

Meetings take place on 2nd Saturday of month from March to August , 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Building Family Connections
$0.00

Applications open 14th of each month. Applications close 30th of each month. Selected Families notified 1st of following month!

The Building Family Connection program helps families impacted by parental incarceration stay connected by providing financial assistance for communication and visitation. Families can apply for support with one of four options: in-person visit transportation, phone calls, video visits, or electronic letters.

Each month, eligible families can receive up to $100 in assistance to help reduce the cost of staying connected with an incarcerated parent. Assistance is based on available funding and the family's specific communication needs, with funds provided directly toward approved communication or visitation expenses.

Our goal is to make it easier for children and families to maintain meaningful relationships with their incarcerated parent, even when distance, transportation, or communication costs create barriers. Through this program, Building Beyond Bars works to ensure that financial challenges don't have to stand in the way of family connection.
